Who We Are
In 1968, at 10 years old, Bill was running around the neighborhood collecting recyclables with his little red wagon. Dad would help load them in the station wagon to take them to the recycling center.
In 1982, he encouraged people to fill his business’ warehouse and parking lot with recyclables until they had enough to fill a tractor trailer load.
In 1981 he started Water Works, providing water conservation products, wood fired and instantaneous water heaters and non-electric water treatment systems for sale. Over the next 21 years the business developed into the premier water quality company in Southern Vermont.
At the end of 2001 the water quality business was sold to focus on the next project as well as kids, a biology degree, etc. Back in 1996 he began research on efficient building design and technology. In 2003 he built his own home which, at the time was one of only 17 5+-Star rated homes in Vermont’s Energy Star Homes Program. The partially solar heated home was a pilot project for the Vermont Green Built Home program.
At the beginning of 2005 Bill started the rigorous process of becoming a Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified Building Analyst. In July of that year he passed three certification examinations: Building Analyst, Shell Specialist, and Heating Specialist. Next, he spent a week training to become a Level I Infrared Thermographer. These trainings culminated in forming Peak Energy Solutions.
Access to anyone! Peak Energy Solutions is a colaborative consulting firm. If you need a specialist in a field related to what we do, let us know and we will put you in touch with the right person.
In his spare time, Bill loves to sail on his 1967 sloop Be Here Now.
